A future where the hardware will be the Human Being

Deux-ex : Revolution is a good FPS that tells about actions of  an ex-policeman with IT implants to help him to fight for example with a sight in augmented reality.

It provides a vision of future when human body will be the better hardware.

Developers have imagined a situation of these human devices will be only for people with money to buy medicines to block the answer of immune system.

And this is a good connection to introduce our post.

The most discussed device in this moment is Google Glass than is able to provide an AR (augmented reality) experience while you watch a TV, while you walk or run, because the information is in front of you like an HUD (Head-up Display in videogames is the sight on the screen with info as points life, radar etc etc) and you will can to give commands just to move your eyes.

Today no one definitively is able to say if mobile phone and wireless waves are a risk of our health , we know the problem of watching video 3D for long time or simple a risk of exposition to psychedelic video for some susceptible people, but the interaction between human body and devices it's a potential great risk.

How it's possible to accept technology more invasive without ask questions?

Some months ago i read a news about risk of to assume wrong posture for children using Tablet and smartphone, if there is a risk only for use of a device, there isn't a risk in the use of our body as device?

What do you want change of your body and brain?

Unfortunately i am not a doctor, so i don't want to say only my impressions but i would to have pleasure to introduce comments of expert of medicine that can provide some interesting and scientific information.

The Big Data, an IT Big Brother?

I woke up today with my phone alarm (something knows this).

I connected with my tablet (something knows this).

I went to work with my car and i payed a fuel with credit card (something knows where i'm, when, my bank account and how much I spend ).

I used my badge on the work (something knows where i'm and when).

Every moment of my life today generates info and these info are stored by my bank, by my company, by e-mail server, by Apple or Google or Microsoft.

I can suspect also by some G-men...

If I pay my shopping with credit card , my bank only knows how much i spend, but don't knows what I exactly have in my hands.

If I use a shopping card to have discounts, the supermarket only knows what I buy and this is useful to propose to me other discounts or promotion goods.

Ok, it's a problem? Not , absolutely.

But if a company or an agency can collect every info about my life, my account, my phone, my friends, what i eat, what i watch on tv and on internet, what i buy and what i sell, when and where I am, if i'm heterosexual or omosexual, if i betray my wife, if my wife betrays me and all you can imagine.

it's a problem? Maybe....

Big-Data are very incredible opportunity for Companies to improve their products and their process , if we analize this matter in terms of “productivity” , there only are reasons to think they are the best solution of business in the world.

Investment companies can predict the market unsteadiness, invest better and create a new interesting product for people.

Food companies can take out of the oven a new best donut with more sugar and fat... because Big Data say : "87% of people buy sugar and fat"

Ok, it's a joke, but Big Data really can generate risks accentuating the difference between "want" and "need" in the market and also in politic.

If in the market we can accept this, in politics the risk about choices taken by an analysis of a Big "poll" without questions is very high.

The Republican Party says "Develop and test political technologies dedicated to driving voter turnout in the 2013-2014 cycle" because in the recent re-election of United States President Mister Obama the role of technology is been more essential than before.

But words say more than they want to say... what means :"to driving voter tournout"?

If a company uses a Big Data to improve products, there is not problem, but if a party uses a Big Data to know what you wrote in Facebook or Twitter or in your blog maybe we must to worry about this.

But the greatest risk (Cispa docet) is about defense of own privacy, a concentration of info about me it's a danger, because without privacy there is not freedom.

Some agencies of US Government intend the privacy as :"persons, houses, papers, and effects." (Fourth Amendment ) but e-mail and other It personal data stored on third part servers are judged not "privacy",do you understand what this means?

Big Data are a incredible revolution in the IT sector, but the use of Big Data solicits more responsibility than ever, because a risk of exploitation of info by goverments and companies in the future will be the biggest danger for our freedom.

The Example of M5S... Dishonest news and Politics in a blender

It's important to introduce that this post isn't a politic post, but a reflection about It innovation and his correlation with the change of form of politic and social participation.

Furthermore this post is a first part of two about the importance to validate news coming from web, and how without a validation it's possible to create a very serious crisis that can spread from web to real life of people with unpredictable effects.

The M5S , Italian party created in 2009 by Beppe Grillo a comedian and Roberto Casaleggio an expert of communication strategy, is a great example of populism that with a dishonest news can influence a politic scenario in dramatic way.

After a very incredible result in national election 2013 , the M5S rejects all possible agreement to enter in a Government, because the their belief system is to reject "the old, dirty politic" and to propose a new iper-democracy from the web.

Already they had proposed a list of candidate voted by web and when in the middle of institutional crisis because of impossibility to make a government , Italy had to elect a new president of Republic , they decide to propose a candidate after the "quirinarie" a internet poll for registered voters of their blog, almost 50 thousand person.

The winner is Milena Gabanelli , journalist very famous for her TV show, but she rejects to become their candidate.

Second Place Gino Strada , Doctor and founder of Emergency ( http://www.emergency.it/en-index.html?51769d2529889 ), but also he rejects the candidature.

So they decides to propose the candidature to Stefano Rodotà , 80 years old , politic of left wing.

They immediately begin to say that this candidate is the candidate that Italians want and in the rough days while parliament fails for 5 time the election , they repeat that Rodotà is a candidate that italians want and some people begins to demonstrate in front of Parliament.

Many people by Facebook and Twitter say the same thing, many journalist of left wing say the same thing, other journalists ask data of this poll , but M5S don't provides results.

So after one crazy week, in the Saturday morning the parliament renews confidence in Giorgio Napolitano , the outgoing president.

M5S begins to call “Golpe” this and to incite people to march to Rome (as Mussolini in 1922).

Some people demonstrates, but at the same time on Sunday during regional election in Friuli Venezia Giulia the M5S loses almost 12% from 26% of one month before.

Tuesday after many questions about result of quirinarie M5S provides finally the result :

Registered voters : 48.292

Votes : 28.518

- Gabanelli Milena: 5.796

- Strada Gino: 4.938

- Rodota' Stefano: 4.677

after this long explanation , we arrive in the middle of our discussion... ...

Only 4.677 people voted Stefano Rodotà, but M5S with the help of twitter, Facebook and Web tells a fantasious tale that he is the candidate of 60 millions of Italians.

The Politics whips itself within a blender , a party goes in crisis , government is suspended , citizens are angry, all this because of false information...

This is a good example, but it's possible to make other as recent news about Obama hurt in a explosion or when Stocks of Apple lost the value because of unofficial email.

We can accept it?

It's problem only about public life?

In the second part of post , we will analyze other similar case but in private life and we will ask to ourself :”how it's possible to make a solution?”
